I skipped the anti-inflammatory this morning. It made for a much better day. I was fully rested and wasn't sleepy in the middle of the day.
Spiderwoman had her heart set on a Jose Burger from the Paradise Cafe, so she pulled ahead of Don't Panic and I. Sounds pretty darn good to me too (my hiker appetite kicked in - woo-hoo!), but going 22 miles was just something I couldn't pull off. At least, not after being stationary for two days, only putting in 20 or so miles over two more days, and getting up around 7:00. Oh well, that just means I get breakfast instead of burgers. Mmmm... I'll be dreaming of pancakes tonight!
The trail was very demanding, but the views were well worth it. I got some good shots, but I'll need to doctor them up to show the real depth of the valley. Also, I picked up a horny toad today. He was so cute! I flipped him on his back and rubbed gently under his chin. His eyes started to close, but I didn't want him falling asleep on me, so I let him go.
I fell down a steep wash too. Gashed up my left knee good. Cleaned it up as best I could, but it looks nasty. Hope it's not that bad.
