Day Zero 19 - Goodbye Desert!

Ah! Today was the day I got back out into the wild. I fully enjoyed my stay at Casa de Luna, but inevidibly I had to get on the trail. I had been getting antsy for the past couple of days.

We all loaded up in the van (the Andersons, Breezeway, Sly and myself) and we were on our way to Kennedy Meadows. But first, we had to stop off in Mojave to pick up Don't Panic. He, too, was tired of the desert, and had called for a ride. When we got there, there were the Robots, Boots, and an injured hiker by the name of Kyle. At first we thought there was no way to fit him in (we were already scraping bottom with the five of us) but Terrie's heart went out to Kyle and she said there was no way we were going to leave him behind. They are such good people!

When we got to Kennedy Meadows, a lot of hikers I hadn't seen in a while were there. It was like a mini reunion for me. And, best of all, I got my camera back!! It came inside a Rolex box. I thought that was hilarious, and the lady who sent it also left a note inside, so I had it sent home as a reminder to all of those who have helped me out. I couldn't call her, so I sent her a postcard letting her know I got it safe and sound. I'm going to have to send her and her husband something really nice as a token of my appreciation.

We of course partied into the night. Hell, there's always a party where the Anderson's are. I need sleep badly, but I won't be hiking tomorrow. I've got too many boxes in the mail I need to sort through.
