I heard most everyone else get up at 1:00. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. I woke up around 7:00, and Don't Panic and I lolled around camp. Then we saw that Breezeway had stayed behind too. Bobcat showed up at our camp. He had camped near the meadow and was on his way up to the summit. We all got going around 8:00 or so. It took me about four hours to get to the top, and it was a brutal climb. But the 360 degree views were spectacular. I took as many pictures as I could. I'll post them soon.
The climb down was pretty rough on my feet and knees. The back of my heels were getting torn up, and I tried to cover them up with bandaids and duct tape. Didn't really work, but there's not much else I can do.
We all agreed to meet up at Wright Creek and camp there. It was swarming with mosquitos. I sometimes wonder if Sierra is a Native word for "Haven of Mosquitos." I made camp and am ready to pass out. Forester Pass is coming up tomorrow, which will be the highest point on the PCT at 13,180 feet! I need my rest, and I hope my feet feel better in the morning.
