I'm sick of the desert. I don't like hiking in it. I'm constantly more dirty than I should be and I sweat way more than should be normal. I'm more of a mountain girl anyway, so I have no problems skipping the desert right now.
So, I'm sitting here at Casa de Luna, talking to Breezeway (remember, the guy I started my hike with...!) and he convinced me to wait until the Anderson's go up to Kennedy Meadows. Even if I did skip up 60 miles, I'd still be behind a lot of the people I know, so Kennedy Meadows will be the place to catch up. Plus, it kind of makes sense to skip 140 miles instead of 60, and I can come back next year for the kick off and stamp out this part. It will be earlier in the year, say mid April, and it should be cooler (though you never know). And, Breezeway will walk it with me next year (tentatively). Joe and Terrie won't be leaving until Thursday, so I'm going to be hanging out here, helping with chores (making pancakes in the morning for the other hikers, folding laundry, going on grocery runs, washing dishes and straightening up the kitchen) as well as having the time of my life! These folks know how to party!!
