So that sleep I said I was going to get? Not in the cards. I was flopping around in pain. It felt like someone tied my who knows what into a knot and then was pulling on it. I was sharing one of the king size beds with Don't Panic, who eventually took his pillow and left. He said the only thing he could do was either give me drugs or call 911. I agreed to ibuprofen, but after flopping around for another hour and a half, I figured it wasn't working. I was pretty damn close to calling 911 myself, but I had no idea where in Bridgeport I was, and I didn't know where the nearest hospital was. Eventually, exhaustion won over and I passed out.
I woke up late, and I wasn't in as much pain as I had been, but the pain was still there. I was scared. I was thinking appendix, and having to need it taken out. I called my mom, and she found the one clinic online for me, so I called them up and got an appointment. After talking to the doctor, he laid out some possibilities - appendix, pelvic infection, or ovary cyst. None of those sounded good. He ruled out appendix, since I didn't have too much of a fever and I still had my appetite. So pelvic exam. Ruled out the infection, again because of no fever. So he checked the ovaries. No cyst (though there is no way to know without an ultrasound), but the one was enlarged. So he said inflammed ovary.
...
Yeah. Didn't know that could happen.
He prescribed something, but the closest pharmacy was in South Lake Tahoe, another three days on the trail. So instead he said to get Advil and take three at a time every six hours. So that's what I'll be doing, until I can get to Tahoe. We'll see how well I sleep tonight.
