We started on June 15th at the Chief Mountain border crossing at Canada.  We had hoped to start at the Waterton Lakes Terminus, but we were told by the rangers that there was still quite a bit of snow in the mountains.  We had to schedule which campsites we would be staying for the next six nights with the rangers. Especially when you wake up in a dark room in a comfortable bed. Eventually I did get out, and DP and I waited for a shuttle to Reds Meadow. A bit larger than some of the others I've stayed in. It's a ski town, and in the summer a rock climbing/mountain biking town.
